Hey guys i woke up this morning with a real bad ATF leak it was a massive puddle just behind the front right tyre any ideas where it could be coming from cheers
oil cooler lines that run from the trans to the rad or it also could be a p/s leak
+1 for cooler lines vr-vs had lotsa troubles with these
Definitely check these trans cooler lines,Ive got the front bumper off my VS at the moment because Im in the middle of replacing the auto trans rubber cooler lines where they go up behind the front bumper to the aux trans cooler. They were leaking pretty badly. The original clamps on the cooler behind the bumper were that loose I could move them with my fingers, its got me stuffed how they didnt blow off under pressure ,and I couldnt even get to them unless the bumper was removed first,a real pain just for a simple hose replacement..I just went and bought 3 meters of new high pressure rubber hose, and some proper jubilee type hose clamps instead of using the dodgey hose clamps holden used.
Hey guys should have been more specific the leak it's self is not near the front bumber I've just replaced the cooler hoses leading into the radiator, it's actually behind the front wheel near the drivers door ! Any ideas ..... Sorry for the confusion thanks guys !
try the silver lines running up into the gearbox its self those nuts/screws come loose all the time, my old white vs had, had them undone by the previous owner and i was wondering why i was losing fluid and it resulted in a really crappy slipping auto.
These trans cooler lines arent just located behind the front bumper, they also run back on the right side of the engine bay ,back to the transmission.I was just saying that because thats where mine was leaking from, behind the bumper, but they can leak pretty much at any of the unions or rubber hose joints..
