Noisy Power Steering Pump

I've had my car for a few months now, but since I bought it the power steering pump seems to enjoy a good grumble every time I turn the wheel.

Just wondering if I should get it replaced soon, or if it should be OK for a while longer.

Only like $80 for a reco exchange. Just change it.

Its common for the bush in the firewall where the steering cloumn shaft passes through it into the engine bay, to get noisey and dry ,which can then cause a moaning groaning type of sound when the steering wheel is turned.My VS was doing this badly when I first got it,and I took it to a couple of steering places,and was told it needed a new pump or rack etc.Then after reading on here about this dry bush,and the noise it caused,I though Id try spraying it with WD40 as I had nothing to loose,and I sprayed WD40 up into this bush from the engine bay side,and the noise completely went away away and has not come back,and that was a couple of years ago now.
This noise did not sound like a dry bush at all,it sounded more like a stuffed power steering pump sound,so its worth checking this out and spraying some WD40 up into the bush and seeing if it goes quiet.You may find that you dont need a repalcement pump etc.
