hey was wandering if any on u guys would have a clue where all my water is going in my car the other day i fulled it up and next day all gone ive looked all around the engine and i cant find anyways leaks only problem i can find is that the radiator is geting alot of presure in it i turned the car on and remove the cap and its just slowly flowing out any ideas ive checkd the oil and dosent seem to have water in it im lost what to do and dose anyone know anygud mechanics in the sunshine, footscray area (Vic)
...what?
Ofcourse the radiator is under pressure.. the hot engine heats the water up causing it to expand
How much water/coolant did you put in the radiator?
around 5liters of mixd water/coolant just notice some water around the waterpump so might need replaceing
Very strange... Have you let it heat up to full temp and searched engine bay and under the car for any water or puddles on ground? Hopefully it is what 'mr calais 5.0' is saying, or maybe radiator stuffed. My car kept losing coolant, couldnt find any, though replaced radiator and it was all good again.
In conjunction to your last post, if water around water pump it is more than likely that then i'd assume

Ah well it pointing towards the pump then. No way it should go after 4 months. Yeah things like this utterly suck, specially when u got no time.

might just do the pump themostat and heater switch all at once so if it still happens i know its not them
Just had my tanks re-soldered on my wagon. Was loosing coolant. The tanks were slightly buldges and had some miniscule leaks you could just barly see! But it was enough to cause a propblem. Stemmed from a cheap radiator cap seal rubber spreading under the spring and growing up the neck of the radiator and blocking the overflow hose. So simple, but one of the issues was high pressure like you described which was what caused the radiator tanks to split at the seams.
If you go to a "NatRad" store they do free pressure checks and system diagnosis for free (with the hope that you will get them to fix it) and you can go from there. They will give you a quote....you will laugh and go home and fix it urself![]()
