Ok, so I checked the how to section and can't find any info.
I have the rectangle blinkers on my car and I recently aquired oval blinkers but I'll be f$*ked if I can get them on. They came off the commodore at the wreckers easily enough. I didnt check if the cutout in the fender was different or not for the 2 different blinkers.
Anyone encountered this prob and solved it?
Cheers Chris.
They are the same they go in the same way as the rectangle ones.

are you talking about the ones above the driverdoor? i thought the bulbs just twist into the socket on the old orange ones
They only go one way mate the later VS's had them from memory. Just have to get the side opposite the clip in first from memory.

left arrow: this side is pressed in as far as i can get it without breaking the tab
right arrow: this side sticks out past the cutout section and just cant be forced in.
I have tried putting the other side in first and i cant get it in. Thats whats making me think the cutout hole is different. Bloody annoying.
Am I just being to careful putting them in or what?
Yeah thats what I thought, makes sense but when i try putting that side in first I wont go in, cant get it to sit in over the edge of the fender where it should sit... just dont want to break the tab on the other end is all, I broke one quite easily getting it off at the wreckers...
Unfortunately you just have to be gentle after a little while they get brittle. I went through 2 before I got them in.

cool, thanks mate.
I acquired one from a wreckers cause one of mine had a crack, it took a bit of encouragement to get back in, it only goes one way though
should take you less than 5sec to put in can only go in one way.
Cheers guys, turns out i was just being to gentle, haha, they ended up going in but was a bit tough. Much better looking than the rectangle ones I think...
Very much so. Hope you didn't have the same problem I did. Had a rectangle outline bit of dirt that was a pain to remove.

hey i did the same just pared down the little plastic lug that stops it going in with stanley knife and they went in sweet
I'll remember that for when I inevitably break one changing a bulb!
that sucks, hit up pick n payless mate, few out there atm with the oval lights.
