VS statesman s2 woodgrain console insert into s1 problem question?? HELP PLS! ?

Hey guys i have a series 1 vs statesman and purchased the woodgrain centre console and stereo surround inserts... After i cut my back stereo surround plastic and removed the support bar i successfully fitted the woodgrain stereo surround / sunglass holder part in.. Now i have gone to fit the woodgrain centre console insert in but am having troubles...it wont fit for some reason ? is there a difference in the console from a series 1 statesman and a series 2/3 besides the console lid ?? It wont go in for some reason its hard up against something near the ashtray but i can't see exactly... i removed the white 4screw tbar surround and it went in but thats the only way... any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated?

Gday i fitted the same thing in a vs clubsport did you get the outer console part that goes with the wood grain as it has the cut out to fit the sunglass compartment and by the sounds you cut the metal bracket holding the stereo if you have more trouble i can send a photo of mine cheers if you need to chat my number is 0417523128 cheers adam

thanks adam, yeah i bought that part after i relised what was going on and then removed the support bar.. Today i realised the white tbar surround bracket that supports the 2plastic slides with your gear selections on it had a curve on it pushing the ashtray to one side so i cut it out and got it in, what a #### around but atleast its in.... You wouldnt be able to send me a picture of your console with the woodgrain and black pastic pieces (power part and p/r/d/3/2/1/ ) removed so i can see what differences there are with the white bit and if theres any difference in the console ?? So i know for next time - 0433431781 matt
