I had a dodgy fuel pump in my VR V8 Ute a few weeks ago and by chance I had a spare v6 fuel pump and cradle from a Calais just sitting there.
The only noticeable difference on the sedan cradle was a return line on top which isn't used in the ute which I welded up and then just stuck the entire lot in to the tank and away she went.
Now the issue I have is when I get to the last line above the E on my fuel gauge its starts to surge, and it never use to before. Its quite bad if you take a corner to fast it will just starve it of fuel and stall out.
The only thing I can think of is the fuel sender on the cradle is out. Are the tanks in the Calais bigger then the VR Utes tank and im just simply running out of fuel before the dash says so?
Cheers
Swirl pot? Whats that lol? Is that the bag thingy-ma-bob?
Yeah any idea's?![]()
not the bag, that bag at the end of the sender is another filter. the swirl pot is a black bowl which is mounted in the tank, there is a hose thats connected to the swirl pot which you have to connect to the sender. this stops the issue your having.
Ah ok... Well im off to pull the tank out and have a look see.. Cheers for the reply.
