The numbers on my dash are going away,
mainly the KM's travelled, the ones on the right Speed Alert have completely gone.
Does anyone know if this might be an electrical problem? It began when the battery went flat, or, could it be heat now i live in Cairns?
they are slowly all going away.

what do you mean numbers are fading?
the clock should read 250,012 but instead theres only 25 012, but even less then that.
The LCD numbers fade, then stop appearing.

There are two main reasons for loss of LCD numbers. 1. White plastic fascia that holds the screens in place under pressure has failed. 2. The LCD has failed.
Solution - best thing to do if purchase a cluster that you can run in diag mode to see all the segments light up on the trip computer (mode 3 in diag mode).

Sorry - I missed VL Calais. I'm not sure if the VL Calais ODO part is the same as the VN - VS ODO trip computer. If it is the 3 screens (VN to VS) are held in place against the trip computer PCB under a little pressure. The 4 globes over time cook the plastic (white fascia) and can snap the mount holes. The loss of pressure can let some segments fade on the LCD screens.

I find that the LCD display in my speed alert stuffs up on very cold mornings,(0 degrees), and wont display all the LCD segments until the car has warmed up.
