    Default VS Heater Fan.

    Hey guys,

When I was on my way home from work, I started to hear a noise, sounded like a grinding noise coming from the engine bay. I kept driving and it was getting louder and louder. Then it didn't sound like the engine bay anymore, it sounded like it was in the dash. I reached over and opened the glove box and the noise was right behind that. I turned the climate control off and the noise stopped, then when I turned it back on it came back. Then about 3 minutes later the noise was gone.

I don't know how but I suspect that something has gotten into the heater fan behind the dash.

Does anyone know how I can get in there to have a look, do I have to pull out the glove box? If so, then how do I get into where the fan is?

    Thanks for any help.

Has anyone had to get to the fan before?

I definitely want to check mine because this morning I heard a noise coming from it again but it wasn't as bad. I'm thinking one of the fan blades has broken off or something. 16 year old car, its probably gone brittle if it is broken.

its not hard to pull glove box out just open and pullout the pin in the right hand back corner might be bit tight so pliers dont go astray should let you get to the heater box at the back and be closer to the area you need to diagnose the problem bit better

could be leaves caught in there. Or the blade has broken off
