Default VS differetial front pinion seal replacement

I am about to replace the pinion seal on my leaking VS differential and have already read some helpful threads on how to do this, however I still have some basic questions:

I am also wanting to drain the oil from the differential and check it for any metal fragments .

Do I have to remove the rear plate of the differential to drain the differential; is there a drain plug or can I pump the old oil out ?

Is the rubber plug on the back plate a filler hole plug and is it also the level full mark ?

What is the oil capacity of the differential and are there other fill points for the rest of the rear axle assembly or do I just fill a the differential until the oil flows out ?

    Thanks for the help

    1. The drain plug on the diff is the bolt at the bottom of the back plate.

    2. You don't have to remove that plate to drain the oil, just undo that bottom bolt and wait until all the oil comes out.

    3. All you have to do is keep pumping the oil in the filler hole (where the rubber plug is) until the oil starts coming out, once it starts coming out then its full.

    4. Not sure on the exact capacity but its between 1L to 1.5L.

    Hope that helps.
