I have a Vs series 2 v8 converted to a t5 5 speed manual and I want my cruise control to work properly. Does anyone know what you have to do with the clutch pedal?
Welcome to the forum.
You will have to instal a switch on the clutch pedal similar to the extra switch on the brake pedal. Because your car was an auto, it may not have the extra plug for the clutch switch so you will need to wire it in so it disegages the cruise when you put the clutch in. The wiring diagrams in the Gregorys manual do not show a clutch switch for some reason or other, but I'm pretty sure you must have one otherwise the revs would go thru the roof when you depressed the clutch.
Edit....see this thread: cruise control in manual vn

I have the same problem with my senator. But the cruise control doesn't work at all. Anyone know why?
In my wagon i dont have the clutch switch at all. They are painful, especially in hilly areas where you wanna click between 4th/5th a few times. Having it cancel everytime you wanna change gears is just silly.
Hako, the gregory's manual wont show it because there was never a factory released vs manual with cruise control.
I think 'markovr' posted some info a while ago about retrofitting an additional stoplight switch to work off the clutch pedal that he did in his manual vr. I still need to do this myself.
Thanks I'll have to look into it further, but thanks for heading me in the right direction

Hey guys,
I've re-installed my cruise but now it's not working. The 'crs' light comes on but it won't set. The 'on' light flashes when I press the set button. Any ideas?

I bought the car with the cruise module and cable taken out
So you've replaced the exact same one that was taken out?....any reason why it was taken out?.....sorry for the questions.

I have no idea why the previous owner had taken it out and yes I've replaced the exact same parts that were on the car
I've had a good look in the gregorys manual and also had a good look under the fuse panel inside the car and it looks like the switch for the cruise is gone. I assume that is why it doesn't work and the 'on' light flashes?
Bingo! With the stoplight switch removed (or even incorrectly adjusted) Cruise will not work. The crs light will stay on but when you try to engage cruise the'on' light will only flash as it will cancel straight away. I'd source another switch from a wrecker.
Cheers

Re the switch - just check that the previous owner has not simply bridged the connector that goes on the switch - I've seen this done to overcome a switch that keeps going out of adjustment. Also the CC module may have been buggered and then removed.
Not sure if this is relevant but the other thing is that seeing as you have a Statesman, I think part of the switching for the CC is incorporated in the BCM....if this has been switched as part of the manual conversion you will need to add the CC relay under the fuse panel as fitted in low series BCM.....I'm probably totally wrong but just suggesting this FWIW.
