Exclamation VR 80L Long Range Tank Question

    Hey guys,

Got myself an 80L tank out of a Stato, and I'm a bit confused regarding the venting system hoses. I have done a search but haven't really found what I'm after. The hose arrangement on my stock 63L tank, as well as the little valve on the filler neck are different to the new tank. Could anybody please shed some light on this?

I have attached a photo to show which hoses I am confused about

    Thanks guys

That pic I just posted looks like the VN early VP type tank with the fuel return line going back into the tank via a seperate return line.On the later VP's and later models, this was changed so the return line goes back into the tank through the fuel gauge/pump assembly..

Dont flip your wheels over it mate, its all just emmsions crap anyway it wont effect performance in anyway, just hook it up the same way as your current setup but put a t piece in to turn the single vent line back into two and your laughing, thats all i did when i put my VS tank into the VK and have had 0 problems and still have all emissions gear in place making it completely legit with the law.

    Ahh OK fair enough =)

I think the tank I have is out of a VS, or the Statesman equivalent.

In that picture I posted, Im pretty sure the one on the left would go to the charcoal canister, the hose labelled 17 goes to the small port on top of the tank next to the big nylon hose (only 2 ports on top of my tank). The hose thats got me stumped is the one labelled 14???

Fair enough mate I might just do that then, its just that Ive heard about people getting vapour locks and stuff if the hoses arent hooked up right?

The high fuel pressure in these systems, and the fact that they run a fuel return line back to the tank which keeps the fuel constantly circulating through the fuel system, pretty much prevents vapour locks from occuring.

pretty sure the later vs models had part number 9 with two outlets at the top one which feed to the filler neck, to cutout having another pipe from the tank as in your pic.

just don't let anything vent to atmosphere or all you'll smell is fuel vapour especially on a hot day.

I have the exact same setup on my vr that has a tank out of a vs ...the hose with a right angle is clipped to the side of the tank and one end isnt plugged into anything it just vents to the air...when the tank is filled to the brim there is a small fuel smell but generally there isnt any constant smell
Rubber line marked charcoal canister goes to the steel line that runs to the front of the car that goes to the canister.
This is my vr that I rebuilt ....CLICK HERE to see my vr on Cardomain ......if you want to check it out......Anyway make sure you rubbish a ford daily ....I am a 4DH8RZ Club lifetime member .................new members joining everyday
