Default Vs statesman auto slip! Help!

    Hi.

I recently purchased a v6 95 stato. It's auto. But when I put the foot down It will change gears down but before it engages the gear properly it just revs out at the limiter. N then it slows the revs and fully engages the gear. I have no idea what it is but it gets annoying when it doesn't want to change gears at all sometimes! N also I have noticed if I use cruise n then put the foot down it sometimes doesn't change gears at all. But if I turn the car off n on it becomes fine. Would that be the the cruise module?

One thing you could try is servicing the transmission, but I think your transmission is stuffed, might have to get a reco one.

It got serviced bout 3-4 months ago when the front seal got replaced as it was leaking! Could it be something electronic? Would a 91 vn auto fit it? If ido need to replace it! I was actually thinking of replacing it overtime when i had the money to a manual!

If you have had it serviced then the transmission is going to be ****ed. I have seen a few VN-VS Commodores (including my dads VR Statesman) where exactly the same thing has happened and we had to end up taking them to an auto transmission place up the road. It actually happened to my dad a week after he bought it from a car yard, he took it back and they "fixed it" but they done a dodgy job. Then 2 weeks later it happened again, ended up needing a transmission.
