Hi Guys
I'mtrying to fit a VS split back rear seat into my VR wagon so that I can still have a rear passenger but still carry long loads when needed .
I've installed the sprung covers that go behing the back rest but now that I'm at the stage of fitting the back rest in the middle bracket seems to come nowhere close to mounting up to where I thought it would (bolt thru from the middle seat belt mount ) .
I've had a search thru the forums & google & only found one article where the guy reckons it went easy as & yes the seat belt mount bolt goes thruy then just drill 2 more holes for the other bolts but I can't see this set up fitting - does anyone know if the VS wagons have another bracket possibly welded to the floor pan .
Unfortunately I didn;t remove the seats from the donor car but the guy who sold them to me included all the bolts , screws etc so I'd assume if there was another unboltable bracket there he would have included it .
Any chance of someone having a pic of their rear floor pan ??
Thanks in advance
Not super sure bout this, but im sure i read on here once before(cause i wanted to do that) that the vs floor has an extra bolt hole or bracket or somthing for this bi-fold mechanism that the vr dont have
I would be interested in doing this to my VR Series2 Wagon. Please post back when you find out what the difference is.
still no luck with this - contacted the guy I bought it off & he sent thru a rough pxt of the vs floor pan which look similar to the vr pan but with a couple of extra bolt holes . I'm wondering if maybe there is an intermediate bracket between the floor and the mounting where the scissor action hinges from thats been lost in transit ??? maybe someone with a bifold seat can whip out their base squab & shed some light on this for us ?
so upon looking at these pic's on the computer screen rather than on my phone - there is quite a big difference in the positioning of the main (seatbelt retaining) bolt as well as the fact there is the 2 extra bolt holes - if it was just the 2 smaller ones to deal with I would be happy to drill the floor & put a plate & nut on the other side but with it being a seatbelt mount I can see the inspectors throwing a mental about that & requiring certification - too much hassle for a fold down seat guess we'll just have to tie the kid to the roof next time I need to transport something long![]()
Edit: Wrong thread.
Doh!
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
Well my memory hasnt completely faded, thought there was somthin different otherwise i would have had them already when i thought about them ages ago.
