have dash lights interior light central lock works but can only start by shorting nutural saftey switch green grey wires car runs fine but for rwc i need it to work properly
the day before this happened nothing worked at all cleaned contacts on nutural saftey switch put back in car presto everything works untill the next day
all fuses fine replaced key head and nutural switch but still no joy even auto elects were stumped can some one please help me
havent tried bcm yet
Could also be a bad starter relay or a bad starter motor solenoid seeing as you have checked other possibles.....or loose hot cable to starter motor. Long shot is bad ignition switch.

today i playd whithe the nutural switch for a bit (couple of hours ) eventualy while playing there interior light went out repaired by unpluging bcm and pluging in again then thort earth problem shorted the black wire going to nss presto car started in park and nutural even rev lights worked thort problem solved but after locking unlocking all no go again to get started again disconect batt then while cranking no int light disconect bcm plug back in get int light back it starts go for a little drive now cant start at all mmmmm

got a price today for $125 any way back to the cheaper fix if the bcm controlls every thing why can i get everything to work at some point or another is the bcm gust being selective on what it eants to do
dont want to get one to find out its not that is there any more earths apart from the one near the batt and wind screen and is there any up under the dash i just cant find verry confused keep watching this space for outcome

Well if its the BCM, which was just a guess since you had a fiddle and it worked. I have one here that i was going to use, for $80 posted. Sounds like, if it is your problem, you need it more then i do.
Wasn't there a problem with the ECU on some VS's being bad....and to fix you ran a separate earth wire to a nerw earth??

got a new second hand bcm and it worked now i have a brand new key head that is usless and a shitty old key whith worn button to start my car
does anyone know if i can get the new key head re programed for the new bcm

Take the car and key head to holden.
Some locksmiths can program them, cheaper than Holden I would think. A locksmith programmed my new one for $20.

well it stoped againcentral locking went all funy got new driverside acctuator all fixed untill that one started to lock and unlock but key worked fine next day button locked driver door but no pass side had to menual do it next start got me about 5m now no go at all but engine cranks cant hear fuel pump has no spark also the engine warning light dosent come on the dash any more new bcm and key still the same back to old bcm and key now the doors work somtimes still no joy
any feed back would be nice but ive checked eveything done the holding the yey on thing bashed the tank checked the fuses relays can get every thing to work but the engine
ps i hate car wiring its doing my head in but ill get it soon drop some hints and watch this space for outcome thanks people
found a short in the themo fan fuse coming from ecu but could alo get rid of the fault by unpluging oxy sensor and efi relay code test befor all this came up whith code 12 ( all good) not
no check engine light on the dash too mmmmmmm
Ok this is a real easy solution in 3 steps
1. Call up you're local wreckers and get them to pick up the car
2. Go to you're bank and take out a loan
3. GO BUY YOU'RE SELF A BETTER CAR!
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

jesus so many faults.... seems like throwing parts at it is making it worse,....
anyway
door locks run on seperate internal circuit to immobiliser circuit
so wont stop car from starting, if one door lock doesnt work in up or down when you push the remote button that door lock is probably dead...
if the door lock goes down then pops up again straight away its normally because a door is open or another door lock wont lock..... causing the locks to default to open like in an accident.....
genuine holden keys programmed by holden can only be programmed once to one bcm.... replace it
right so back to not starting
so you unlock the car get in and turn your key to on position
do all your dash lights come on and stay on (engine light stays on steady?) (includes check engine light)?
and you can hear fuel pump come on then turn off?
check these get back to me...
do all the usual un lock door but no engine w light because engine fan fuse blows every time you turn the key unless you pull out the efi relay
im geting 12 pos on one side and 12- on the other side of the engine fan 30a fuse
as for the door locks thats were i thort it started because doors were doing somthing different every push of the button there all disconected now exept for pass rear it seems to be the only one doing what its told
if a fuse blows every time you turn the key on then that circuit is shorted to ground severely....
unplug ecm take BOTH battery terminals off then see if there is a circuit from the fuse (toward the fans side of circuit)
to any ground in the engine bay area (like the disconnected negatve terminal) with a multimeter on setting OHMS a $10 one from supercheap etc will be fine for this test...
if there is any circuit there its pinched or rubbed or cruched onto the body somewhere
you will need to fix this short circuit before chasing anything else
if engine light isnt on on ignition on it means the ecm is not powering up and so no spark and immobilised etc etc list goes on, so fix this first....
disconected coil pack engine light came back put a coil pack from vn on there just to check and fuel pump works got spark again now just to get new one tommoro
dude wtf... fan fuse blows replace coil pack or dfi module? new one to mee when you fix it post what your faults were and exactly what you did along the way to fix it just so we can learn from what appears to be crazyness...![]()
