Hey I got a vs 304 and wondering what purpose are the hoses that sit ontop of the fuel rail going around the intake manifold?? The hoses feel like there is crap inside them when I squeeze them, do they need replacing? Are an emission hose or breather?? Cheers
Id say someone has bypassed your heater core that goes into the firewall. It usually pumps warm water out one side of the engine through the hose, into the firewall giving you heating when wanted, then back out and around the inlet manifold and back into the engine. The hose sits on the fuel rail on mine.
So should it be replaced? It feels like dirt is in the hose when I squeeze it. Best way to describe it lol..
Yeah its probably a rust/grime build up, I had it in mine too. Id replace it.
It would only cost $20 or so from Holden. Or you could just remove it and soak it in a solution and put a hose or even better a high pressure blaster through it if you don't have the coin at the moment.
Thanks mate, I noticed this whilst tightening the inlet manifold bolts. I'm tryin to figure out why I'm having idle issues going step by step to fix it.. U ever change the dizzy cap? Hard place to get at..
Ah fark! The dizzy cap is so frik'n hard.... Head to the Philippines and rent a small village boy for a day and have him get his small little hands back there... Or get a thick blanket and lay it on the inlet manifold so when your laying on the engine you dont hurt yourself and get comfortable, your gunna be there a while
But id say you have an idle issue because one of your vacuum lines is split of fallen off altogether. Just idle the car and wiggle the hoses till it makes the idle change, then you know what hose need replacing if it plays up. Or spray "start ya bastard" around the hoses when idling, the revs will pick up when it sucks in the spray.
Don't forget the little line at the back of the inlet manifold either.
I will try that Mate cheers
