So today heres what i have done: Took plenum lid off for a clean. Took throttle body off to remove rocker covers to paint. All went back on and tightened.
So i went into town, then to a mates place. Between town and the mates, the car kept surging in power.
I would stall it up (auto) and it would almost sound like a miss. So i checked the vac lines again, the vac line from fuel pressure reg to plenum had a split. I could stall it up and would be fine.
I would then plant my foot down the street and it would surge and go nowhere in no real rush.
So heres what i have done to try and solve the problem:
Changed DFI and coils with ones that worked.
Fitted new spark plugs and leads.
Changed AFM
Checked all vac hoses.
Clamped fuel return line (No difference)
So after all that i checked the spark plugs again. Cylinders 2,4,6 all had carbon build up in them. Cylinders 1,3,5 were still like new.. Also if i keep the revs under 2K it doesnt have a problem, after that it has its PMS fit.
Im leaning towards Oxy sensors, as they would control the fuel/air to each side. But since i have currently lost my job and centrelink wont help me cause i dont own a ford, i have little to no money. So i dont want to fork out for new oxys if its not the problem, their only a few months old.
However the reason why i changed my plugs and leads was because leads 1 and 3 were rooted:
Any help would be great because this car needs to be working by monday at 1pm for a job interview.
Cheers guess.
I would look at the TPS. since thats where you were playing with things.
Can you post a pic of all the plugs?
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
TPS brand new. The rest of the plugs look normal. It was 1 and 3 that were like that. hats when it got the new plugs and leads.
The plugs will give a good indication of how the engine is burning its fuel.
Pull them out again and see if they are all the same.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
Sorry to keep you hanging. It turns out that i had no fuel. Gauge said i had 1/8. So the car died when testing something, i thought i had done something. Also the vac line from the fuel press reg to the manifold had a split on the barb end which was hard to see. Fixed the problem.
Cheers for your help mate.
