Default Vs turning over to long - sounds as if its starving for fuel

    Hey
about a week ago i let my vs get quite low on fuel and instead of filling up i decided i would do it in the morning. In the morning i went out and it simply would not start..It decided to run out of fuel overnight? Filled it up with a fuel litres then started it and got to a petrol station and filled it up.

Anyway, ever since that day whenever the car has been sitting and the engine hasnt been running for a few hours when i go to start the engine it just turns over for roughly 10 seconds before it starts...sounds like its starving for fuel. If i then turn the car off and try to turn it back on it starts perfectly fine.

    What have i done?

(keep in mind that before this it would turn over and start basicly straight away)

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks guys

As the vs v6 pump is submerged in the tank, it relies on the fuel around it to keep its operating temps down. Running the tank down very low can expose the pump and allow it to run much hotter (a bad thing) as there is less fuel around it to keep it cool. Im only making an assumption here, but repeated cases of this i've seen semi-kill pumps as appears to be the case with yours. My diagnosis... i'd say you're up for a new pump.
Next time after its sat for a while (where it's currently take 10 secs of cranking to fire) get a mate to bang the bottom of the fuel tank as soon as you start cranking. This sudden jolt can free the rotor vanes in the pump if they're sticking.

Agree with Cander24, .. Also..before cranking.. prime the Fuel system twice.. (Turn just before starting engine, and let the pump do its thing.. Twice)
That is also a good way to sus if the fuel pump is working ok..and for Fuel Pressure.. On a COLD morning, I do this twice and kicks in first go. if I dont, it will wind 2 times before it wants to wake up .
