just wondering if there was any sort of spray that would make your tints last longer instead of fading to that ugly bluey purple...

Buy the proper stuff from reputable companies? Will find you get a life time warranty then.

There's your problem. Cheap tint. Not much can be done. It's changing colour due to UV exposure.

good quality tint is the answer. i've never had a problem and i have an old xe sitting in the sun (in northern vic) 13year old tint, still the same colour when purchased
yeah #### it my mates car been done by the same stuff and it turns purple after a few months (looks horrible) damn it i guess they will have to do until next time.. i know its a stupid sounding idea but what would a high quality clear coat do if i sprayed it evenly on the outside of the window (jack shit???)

so your thinking of spraying clear coat on the out side of the window? yet the tint is on the inside of the window... wont work
It's not possible. Good quality tint will last longer but still won't last forever.
if u happen to buy a car or got window tint from a lower budget workshop then (yes i know sounds retarded) get a small glass of pip-less orange juice mix in a shotglass of metho (resist the urge to drink it) grab a microfiber cloth (NOT A CHAMOIS) like an lcd screen cloth and give it a very damp wipe over, yes i know sounds silly but it has amazing effects on the physical properties of the photogenic layer on window tint
Keep in mind that car window tints are either dyed or metalised.
The cheaper ones contain dyes and once the UV chemically alters the dyes you get that horrible purple affect. Like they say you get what you pay for.
Pay a bit more and go the metalised tints.
