Hi folks, After 5 years of fumbling around at night I fixed the lcd backlight for the climate control by soldering in two new 12v bulbs. I've also fixed a spare one I had that I believe is for a VR (as temp only goes down to 18, not 16 like on the VS) so if anyone has one that doesn't light up and you can't be stuffed fixing it or buying an over priced one off eBay, let me know and we can work something out. Perhaps if anyone else want's their's fixed I could help out?
To clarify it's just the circuit board and screen, no casing or buttons.
Cheers, Chris.

how do i fix??
You need a soldering iron and solder first up. You got those?
Go to somewhere like Jaycar and buy two little 12v bulbs
Open up your climate control unit, take out the screen and circuit board, the bulbs are at the top, take off the little plastic bit under them,( i didnt bother putting that bit back in) you'll need the soldering iron to take the old bulbs out, once they are out slip the wiring from the new ones in, position them in the middle of the wiring holes and solder them in. Put it all back together and enjoy seeing your CC screen at night!.
Sorry bout the blurryness, using my phone.
