What is pursiut? Or do you mean pursuit? And if you mean pursuit, whats so "special" about it?
Also these temp gauges get sticky sometimes, try banging the dash whilst the ignition key is turned on to try to unstick it.The copper tracks on the PCB behind the dash can also crack which breaks the connection for the temp gauge. And check the temp gauge sender on the front of the engine. These engines have two temp sensors, one for the temp gauge on the dash, and another multiple wired one that the ECU uses.So check the one with the single wire.

It comes as second nature for me to thump on the dash each time I start up the vs to get the temp and fuel gauge unstuck lol

As for "special", maybe he has the cop chip

sorry about the spelling, lets see whats so special my car was originally biult to be a plain every day cop car, then some bright spark in the police heirachy decided they wanted to go drag racing with government money ,so they poured about 50gs into this car including a twin turbo that puts really goes, when the novelty wore off they moth balled it ,and i stepped in and bought it after about five years it is now street legal ,it has almost the same engine and puts out to the max .

Mate you shouldnt have said that.Do you realise the chips, or to use a better word, the memcals used in commodore police cars are the same as normal everyday commodore memcals except the police ECUs have the radio interference package which just helps stop the ECU effecting the radio equipment and Visa versa..Yours might be different if its what you say it is,and it just might have an aftermarket memcal fitted, but normal everyday police cars used here in oz do not have special "cop chips" to make them go better or whatever, that rumour has been around for years.

I can remember a few years back when the police were doing this drag racing stuff and had their own drag cars done up to look like a police car basically.I dont know if they still do this stuff or not..

if you come to tarmac here in tassie you can see mine, other wise you will just have to take my word for it or see the photos when i load them, as for the chip mine came out of a ghm car destined for the streets in the usa, for quite a few bucks.

the gauge problem is common with vr/s alot of them have sticky gauges, i just used to hit the top of my dash whenever i started my car, an auto elec told me once its not worth fixing when i put mine in to fix some other problems.

edit ,now id love to see pics of both especially the vc sle, sounds awesome.
