Hey guys, seeing as the search wasn't really helpful, my problem *seems* to be that when I brake or occasionally go up my gutter for my driveway I think the K frame hits the steering rack on the passenger side, as to which part is doing the moving I'm unsure, also I can see marks on the steering rack opposite part of an off hanging bit of the K frame which has about an inch between them. My question is if it is this, what could be causing the problem? I've got work off tomorrow so I'll put it up on jacks and start searching but I'm not sure where to start, I'll check the K frame bolts are tight but other than that I don't know where else to look.
Check caster bushes. Each end of the caster (Z) bar.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
As said by RX25SE... Radius/Caster bushes & ZBar.
But also check you Link pins on the sway bar & your strut tops, See Here...
Good luck.![]()
Cheers for the Help guys will do.
Got Under couldn't see much, most bushes were pretty good if a little old but the ones on the sway bar link *I think* looked pretty new, Is it supposed to only have 1 bush each side of the sway bar ring, it almost looked like it should have one on/inside the ring. Strut bush was fine. The bush on the front of the sway bar was the only one that had visual cracks but I don't know whether or not it would be causing the noise, K frame and rack bolts seemed tight. Anything I'm Missing?
It is most likely the bushes and bearings in you're Strut tower as these seem to wear out and the casing around the ball bearings crack and break as they are only plastic.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
Cool thanks guys, I'll get a photo up of the link in the next few days because I couldn't see anything wrong but I know sweet FA about bushes etc.
