I get this wierd sound when the car is under load, happens as accelerating after slowing for a speed bump etc... and especially when going up hill (there is a speed bump i have to slow down for on a hill near home where it always happens) it comes from the engine area and I can only describe it as a 'scraping' kind of sound... any ideas?
Cheers.

Sounds like the engine torque is causing something to touch the body as the engine 'twists' to one side on acceleration.
Look for 'witness' marks on or around engine mounts and exhaust.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
May be the exhaust pipe hitting on something
Try running the car at idle with the bonnet open and then give the throttle a blat and see if the engine "jumps" up at all.
I had a loud scraping sound from initial acceleration in my old Torana years ago. When the bonnet was open and you gave it some, the whole engine almost tried to jump up out of the car. The scraping noise was the fan on the shroud and was caused by a broken engine mount on the passenger side.
