Anyone else have a clicking noise when opening the drivers or passengers door in their VR-VS?
I noticed it from day dot but now its starting to sound pretty bad where im actually getting unwanted attention in car parks when I get in or out. I have greased up the hinges and anything else that moves on the inner door jamb but still get the sound.
I think maybe I have broken something because I notice the steel slider on the car body that goes in and out of the door lifts up nd then bangs/pops back down?
Replace the door or is it an easy fix?
i would like the same answer but for VT - VX
Sounds like the check strap, that bit that slides in and out of the door. Mine does it too. Shouldnt be too hard to replace it, but Ive never done it
Usually when that happens, it means that the check strap is loose. You just need to tight up the 1 or 2 bolts on the body and it will fix the problem. Same thing for all other model Commodores.

i had that on my vu
but it was the bolt on the hinge rubbing
doubt thats for you but, as you would be able to see it doing damage to the bolt
Happens to me too, drivers side only. Shits me. I'm looking for a fix too.
