Default VS gearbox fit a VR?

Well done a service on the mother in laws car today, and found the transmission oil is blacker than the engine oil. I rang the Tranny shop in Gladstone and they said it's not worth replacing the oil as its probably on it's last legs any way.
I have found a bloke wrecking A 95 VS with a rebuilt auto. He has reciepts and the price is pretty good. But just wanna find out if it will go straight into a 95 VR or will I have other things to do to get it to work?

For 100 bucks or so I would take a punt and service the thing. Might go alright for another few years. But in answer to your question a VS would be an electronic trans which is controlled by the ecu so it wouldn't be a straight swap. Not sure exactly what you would need to make it work.

It is black due to not been changed, I suggest flushing the trans and then see how you go from there. The trans fluid has no life in it. no wonders it is slipping.....

Both trans are electronic, The VS trans has extra pins on the conector which the VR may not have.

If the vn trans is the same as the vr then it will NOT work...
