Hi
Any members using the 98 RON Shell VPower with the modified friction technology.
Its just come over to WA about 4 weeks ago.
Is there any noticeable improvement to the engine idle ie smoother ?
Better fuel economy compared to the others eg BP Ultimate.
Modified friction technology is this clever market hype (science fiction) or it actually works ?
Yeh I know a 101 threads on the 98 RON is any has a short answer please post reply or post the links with the answer.
All the same shit aint it?

Anything but that E10 rubbish is good for your engine, you won't notice and HP gains though.
I use V-Power and I seem to get good mileage. Except for my current VS due to not been serviced properly in seven years by the previous owner...
Most cars won't get much if any power/fuel economy increase unless they've been tune for it, and wtf is low friction fuel???? Lol

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Low friction fuel? Must double as an oil addititve.
Shell V-Power Club
Formulated for enhancing power delivery.
Shell V-Power contains powerful cleaning technology, developed to help enhance everyday driving performance and responsiveness. These cleaning components are designed to prevent the build up of power-robbing inlet valve deposits and to help remove those which may have been left behind by other fuels.
Designed to improve responsiveness.
Shell V-Power is also high-octane fuel (98 RON) designed to improve the performance of many modern engines. This is aided by Shell V-Power's Friction Modification Technology (FMT) which is formulated to reduce friction between the cylinder and piston rings, a critical area of the engine where lubrication is difficult to achieve. FMT is designed to help the engine turn more freely, and so help transfer energy from the engine to the wheels more efficiently.
I've run a Shell, BP, Caltex and Mobil Premium high octane in the E3 and they all seem to be much the same performance wise. I ran a few tanks of it in my old SSV and there was a small economy improvement but stuff all when it came to performance. In the end the extra cost wasn't worth the benefit. I did run std unleaded in the E3 for a tank and it was noticeable the difference. No pinging or anything but the power was definitely down.

From what I've heard, BP have the best refined fuels in all octane ratings. Also told by Foamy that anything more than 95 will actually make the Buicks run slower, which is interesting.
I use Vortex 95 in the VS.

I use premium 95 from BP and somehow get close to 700k per tank in my vr v6
I wouldn't use anything but BP ultimate 98. Supposed to be all the same but it's not. All my car's from the skyline to the VR have run better on it compared to V-Power.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
most tuner i know even the latest podcast from wolfems recommend bp ultimate or mobil 8000 i have yet to hear anyone recommend v-power
