have a strange proplem with me engine temp, gauge reads bit over 1/4 open road driving, and and gets hot real quick around town, coolent comes back out of radiator cap, so got new cap ive had the cooling sytem flushed, new themostst, new fan realy and it still dose the same thing.
ive tried a couple of things off other posts on here, and no luck still
can anyone help me on this one![]()
I would say new radiator and hoses, and if that doesn't work get one of those pro cooling systems put in, ones used on burnout cars
I'd be making sure its bled correctly first, if it still does it then possible blocked radiator
Power is measured in DECIBEL
yer as sweetwagon said bleed up the cooling system first see how it go's then i'd be checking radiators and hoses and stuff
hey all,
in a way i have a similar problem. i'm always losing water but i've replaced the radiator (NEW), new hoses, new water pump and thermostat and thermostat housing and even replace the head gasket. i,ve been told the little black vacuum thing near the air filter that the heater hoses go through can leak and you'd never notice it. so has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it??
Does your thermo fan work? Thsts what i would be looking at
That's the heater tap - easy to replace and about $35 to buy....but first make sure that is where the coolant is going. Wipe the tap with kitchen paper to see if it leaks. I hope you are using green coolant as water will corrode the internal very quickly. The overflow tank should not be overfilled - correct level is about 1/4 full cold.

im losing about 1/2 litre a week, ive changed the valley gaskets and scrubed the inlets aswell, the fan kicks in bout 3/4
so not using coolant because it's always leaking lol and chance that the welsh plugs could be rooted and it would be leaking from them??
Mine also kicks in at 3/4, and it heats rapidly when stopped at the lights but this is normal because when the car is stationary there is no cooling air flowing thru the radiator so the engine heats up rapidly till the fan kicks in. It should use NO coolant - mine will take a cup of coolant every 12 months and has done this for the last 7 years. Is it possible you are overfilling the reservoir? - this will then be ejected when the engine heats up and the coolant expands. Other than that, you car sounds pretty normal.

i was playing around with cooling system and disided to take the themostat out, and its fixed all my proplems, stays cool open road driving, and gets a bit over 1/4 around town, is it all right to run it like this or will it stuff it
I'm no expert but usually if you take something out it's there for a reason resulting in unwanted problems? If you've found that the thermostat was the problem it sounds like you're better off replacing it rather than going without one.
Replace the thermostat! - they can actually keep your engine cooler by restricting the coolant flow at high engine revs when there is a tendency for the coolant to only flow around the front cylinders....also lack of one will increase your fuel consumption as the hotter an engine runs the more efficient it is.

check low speed fan relay in fuse box ,I had same problem the fan was only running on high speed which dosn't come in till temp gets high, the low speed fan should come on when ever you turn on aircon also. relay has 5 pins and green stripe on it $10 part.cheers donhomer
i had the same thing wrong it was a sensor its sits near the top hose and it controled the temp fan as well
mine in peark hour it sit about half way
