do not use the self diagnostic thing, its useless, get a tech1 computer connected to it, it read my base idle was over 200rpm out, my oxygen sensor was out, yet the self diagnostric thing read error code 12, well worth the 30 dollars fdor the test

hey i took it to a mechanic, he said possibly leaky injectors, he sent me to a auto electrition to check ecu, nothing wrong with o2 sensors or any electrical system (altho i need to replace alternator bearings) so went back to the mechanic rekons 490 all up to clean the injectors and get the bearing in the alternator replaced.. at least nothing else is ****ed on the car

I think $490 is a bit much. I got a price on exchange injectors from repco for my VS and it was less than $300. You might wanna look into that option

well he said 260 for the service of the injectors and 190 i think for the alternator, which i dont think is to bad coz a mate of mine took his commodore to holden to clean his injectors and they charged him 350

so if the injectors are leaking the "mechanic" would have been able to see the mixtures being rich on his scan tool. if he didnt use an scan tool you are wasing time & money doing anyting until its confirmed, it could also be a faulty fuel pressure regulator or the coolant temp sensor, best get it checked by someone who has the correct tools for the job

well i took it to an auto electrician and he did the scan thingy, just pluged some computer in it, and i dont blow smoke so it cant be burning rich, altho it does idle rough sometimes (mabe they arent leaking but blocked) but nothing is wrong elecrical and the car doesnt overheat, only gets to 3/4 if i constantly put the foot down but still getting 300ks on a tank isnt right, should i try that injector cleaner stuff first or just get em cleaned incase it is a leaky injector
