ok i just did 200km's on 40 litres something really ****ed up there, my ecu has been reset(by myself) and turns out a code 12 (everthing ok) but then if my o2 sensors are gone why would it give me a code 12 (coz in theory even tho the ecu is reset any previous problems that exsisted and werent fixed should re apear in the ecu if there is any logic to that) altho i think the o2 sensor r ****ed coz im not ideling rough( so it cant be blocked injectors)... ne one help me with this dilema ?? :b:
do not use the self diagnostic thing, its useless, get a tech1 computer connected to it, it read my base idle was over 200rpm out, my oxygen sensor was out, yet the self diagnostric thing read error code 12, well worth the 30 dollars fdor the test
hey i took it to a mechanic, he said possibly leaky injectors, he sent me to a auto electrition to check ecu, nothing wrong with o2 sensors or any electrical system (altho i need to replace alternator bearings) so went back to the mechanic rekons 490 all up to clean the injectors and get the bearing in the alternator replaced.. at least nothing else is ****ed on the car

I think $490 is a bit much. I got a price on exchange injectors from repco for my VS and it was less than $300. You might wanna look into that option
well he said 260 for the service of the injectors and 190 i think for the alternator, which i dont think is to bad coz a mate of mine took his commodore to holden to clean his injectors and they charged him 350
Clean the injectors $25 each, c/o Alternator about $150.
so if the injectors are leaking the "mechanic" would have been able to see the mixtures being rich on his scan tool. if he didnt use an scan tool you are wasing time & money doing anyting until its confirmed, it could also be a faulty fuel pressure regulator or the coolant temp sensor, best get it checked by someone who has the correct tools for the job
Rob
well i took it to an auto electrician and he did the scan thingy, just pluged some computer in it, and i dont blow smoke so it cant be burning rich, altho it does idle rough sometimes (mabe they arent leaking but blocked) but nothing is wrong elecrical and the car doesnt overheat, only gets to 3/4 if i constantly put the foot down but still getting 300ks on a tank isnt right, should i try that injector cleaner stuff first or just get em cleaned incase it is a leaky injector
Well i had my injectors cleaned( i saw the left overs it looked fkn shocking) 2 of them where completely caroded(dw i cant spell) and does it run well would recommend it to anyone. Does anyone know how to clean the engine/inletmanifold area without taking anything off.
