Hey ppl, I just got my car back today from having a new transmission put it. As I was driving it home I was at the lights and put it into neutral and gave it a few revs. I immediately smelt fumes inside the car from the exhaust. Before I left the transmission place he was telling me that who ever did my exahust they designed it pretty bad because they had to remove the extractors and everything just to get to it, so just wondering if that may have anything to do with it. Just wondering if anyone has some ideas as too what it could be or what to look for ?

They didn't do a bad job of the Extractors, it's the way they are meant to be run. Mine is the exact same. However in regards to you're question, my guess would be they forgot to put new gaskets in where it connects from the headers to the Y piece.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
Ill have to check the Cats and Ill have a look to see if their are gaskets in the Y-piece as well. Ill have to do it on friday when Im free.

did you have this problem before you got your tranny done if not take it back and tell them to fix it some new gaskets should be the go, you pay for parts let them pay for labour its called reworking n no company likes doing it,but they do allow for it.
I would be taking it back to the exhaust shop to check for leaks, tell them what is hapening and if the trans shop is responsible have them pay for it.
Are you sure it's exhaust fumes and not just sealant or something else cooking off?
na im sure its exhaust fumes, I have to take it back now because i dont have reverse lights. When i put it in reverse the white lights flash once and nothing so I have to take it back asap!
