so when i cruise and plant it, no matter what gear im in, what speed im going it will slam all the way down into first and red line like anything... what does this mean ? is my trans ####ed or will a service help it ? ( 15 years and my trans has never been serviced as far as i kno ? ) any help would be appreciated![]()
15years with no service? your lucky you still have a moving vehicle. Get it fully flushed, new filter and oil is a must!!!
and forgot 2 mention that when im cruising on 60, the revs bounce between 1000-1500 rpm ??
Service your trans and also check your TPS...

BUMP.... need help... had the trans serviced today and its still doing it... cruising at 60 plant it and its almost like the car selects the wrong gear then realises and changes to the gear it needs.. any1 got any clues as to what it can be ?
Is it slipping?
Have you checked the fault codes?
Hey mate I was actually having a similar problem and then it started slipping gears. I stopped driving it completely coz it was pretty bad and didn't want to kill it completely. Got it rebuilt on Monday with a stage 2 shift kit couldn't be happier now. if your in melb get in touch with airport automatics speak to chris. Very knowledgeable guy and great customer service

nuh its not so much slipping now but its just selecting the wrong gear and yea... nuh havent cant get off my passenger side glove box 2 get 2 the cable i need 2 get 2 haha... and im in Adelaide so yea
ohh yea well i took it to holden yesterday and they plugged in there computer and it came up with no fault codes at all.... its so fustrating
What did Holden suggest the problem was?
could be a few problems, are you missing any gears in normal operation? say if 2nd isn't working could explain why your dropping back to 1st @ WOT which could be a blocked passage or 1-2 accumulator stuck. In normal operation is should only drop back to 1st at 100% throttle below around 45km/hr.
At the end of the day prob easiest thing to do is go back to your tranny guy and get him to take it for a drive and see what he thinks
