First do a check for error codes: Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
I'd also pull the dash again and check that nothing has been dislodged - try and duplicate exactly what you did. Do not turn ignition on when the dash is removed!....it's best to disconnect the battery every time you play with electrics.
Check the connections around the back of the ignition keyhole.
