Hi All, I have had my pride and joy a 93 VR Senator stored in a shipping container for the last few years after taking it off the road and now have the time, space and money to build it into the car I have always wanted. I am looking for some advice.
I want to keep it stockish looking but ultimately want it to be a straight line weapon, ultimately I want something like 750 HP.
Its about to go to the paint shop and be bare metalled, in orginal colours, meanwhile I want some drive line advice.
To start with I am thinking of buying a LS3 crate motor and auto, and fitting it so I can get it through rego. I want to drive it like that for a while then go full house, supercharged etc etc.
I really dont want to have to modify anyhting permanently, I plan on removing the current original 5L & gearbox and putting it aside so if I ever wanted I could restore it to orginal with matching numbers.
Has anyone done an LS3 conversion, is that the way to go? whats involved with wiring looms, gearboxes etc etc?
there's a few other big $$$ threads around id read them first, an id prob suggest turbo or twin turbo rather than supercharger.
Thanks buddy, new to the forum, happy to read through what's been said, can you let me know how to find those threads.
cheers
i agree with the 1 on the twin turbo if you want some real go in it, but if you want that old musclecar low end power and street apeal go with a super charger, not a pro charger or anyting go the full monty with a big or small block chev and roots blower.
Thanks guys, have found the threads and will read. Have just spoken to the paint guy, he starts October so have a few months to think. May get it back from paint and enjoy it with the 5L for a while, they are still fun with only 185kw, and meanwhile do some more research, twin turbo sounds tough, options options. Thanks.
