standard diff centre into LSD ute housing

Is it possible to replace a LSD ute centre with a standard diff centre. If so how hard would this be. I have a VS ute and the LSd has a bad whine so I thought I may be able to replace it with a standard diff centre. Any help would be appreciated.

VS onward used the late style IRS, which has a different pinion offset in the housing. In short, no. It only works in early VQ/VP IRS diffs.

Vs ute aint irs so it dont matter. im pretty sure the housings are the same so dont see a issue.

As for the irs comment Morton aint they the same up to vt series 2 ? at series 2 they started using the bigger gears is my understanding.
