I need help making a decision.. I want to get 3 different things.
Proper Lowering Kit.
They are all around the same price range, Im really willing on getting the extractors..But Tinting would be helpful during the summer while I have no air con.
Lastly My Shocks/ struts and springs has had its day and its almost like driving a tank.
If you could choose what one you would get? and why?
I'd get my air con fixed first.
Ill have a think about.. atm Im thinking Tint, Extractors, then Susp.
Prefer getting tinted windows..
Tinted windows will probably only keep your car 4 or 5 degrees cooler than without tinted windows. Air con will keep you at a fresh 18 degrees on those horrible 45 degree days
If your suspension needs replacing then do it first. Always fix things before modifying arguably pointless things. You can't build a nice car on a dodgy base.
If your air-con just needs to be re-gassed then do it as well because that's pretty cheap. Then I'd do tint, then extractors last, unless there's other things you need to fix.
Weird, I never knew that. I'd only just got my red P's when I took my car to the local Holden dealership because the air-con wasn't cold and made a weird noise. They said it had to be regassed and that's all that was on the invoice. They put a dye in it and checked it a week later but there was no leaks...haven't had a problem since and it works great.I know of very few mechanics who will just regas an AC system, seeming how it's illegal.
The gas only disappears when there's a leak, and you need to find that before you do anything.
Any ideas what went on there lol? (also sorry for being a tiny bit of topic)
I got no idea where you got your figures from but?
extractors and susp are around 500 - 700
but tint is like 300 tops?
Hmph.. Decisions.. Decisions..
Might get my Air Con Tested out.. The compressor still needs new bearings..how much is it to get replaced? :\
Well GunnaBeSumthing..I do believe a decent tint around here is around 300-400.... Not quite the same as prices for Extractors and susp.. but close :\
Your air con gas runs out faster if you don't use it. I never turn my air con off even in winter.
Interesting, So If the car wasnt running for a couple of years.. the gas would run out?
Usually they charge it up with a dye mixed into the gas and check for leaks that way, but usually the leaks disappear after the seals are oiled up again.
