Car not starting, speed alert flashes at the same time. Whaaa???

Ok, so just then when I went to get in my car and turn it on, it wouldnt start. It made this ticking nose coming from the engine, im guessing starter motor, and the speed alert light (the one which flashes at you when you go over the speed) starting flashing real fast.

Im guessing this could just be a dead battery, seeing as ive had some problems starting it in the last couple of weeks, but I thought I'd just come on here and get some other ideas.

Any ideas?

Ticking suggests starter motor. Try the old hitting it with a hammer trick

id be checking your battery first mate. this cold weather destroys the cells in ya battery and then if that dont work try the starter.

Also make sure the negetive terminal is tight and wires are tight..
If the battery is 3 years or older, look at a new one..

My vs did this with the flashing speed alert. Battery dropped a cell. Took alot to jump it then it stalled if I put headlights on
