Default Vx motor into a vs information of what i did

    Hey Guys,

After looking through the forum before attempting to do the engine transplant i found that there was heaps of different answers to some questions. I just wanted to post as to what i did(now some of you may say why did you do that for)but i can say to you that i had no issues at all.

I will start with the obvious things and that would be the removal of the damaged vs motor and box and the removal of the vx motor and box out of the dona car.

Removed the Inlet manifold off both cars
Removed both Exhaust maniflods as i did read that only one needs to be removed but looking at the part numbers they are total different.
    Removed the A/C Compressor
Removed the trans and convertor as the vx trans is total differnt to the vs transmissions
Removed both engine mounts as like i said with the exhaust manifolds only one may need to be removed but i would rather do both and seen as though both engine mounts were shagged i changed both.
    Removed the complete wirring harness
    Removed alternator

So all the parts i took off the vs motor i then put it on the vx motor. After all was on i went to put the belt on and it did go on fine but i noticed that it had maybe 10mm to much slack. I had a good look at the pulleys on the vs motor and sure enough one of the pulley is larger than the vx pully and this is due to the fact that the A/C compressiors are different sizes. anyway changed the pully over and sure enough it worked perfect.

Turn of the key and fired up first go no dramas at all.

If i have done something that you think i didnt need to do then please note that i already no this but just so anyone who is looking to do the conversion this is what i did and had no issues at all.

no i didnt but have done a few and havent had any dramas. If i was undoing a flywheel or something like that i would use torque settings but not on the general bolts.

I might be wrong but isn't there two temp switches on the VT/VX and only one on the VS?

other way around. VT - VY have one temp sensor, VS has a separate sender for the gauge
    Power is measured in DECIBEL

You are correct. I did forget to mention that i did drill and tap the sender for the temp switch just like the vs.
