I've got a few things to ask relating to some current threads and some probs of my own I hope people can clarify.

Firstly, if air con has no gas, should the radiator fan still come on when I press the a/c button? I haven't has gas in it for quite a while but recently when I put in a new temp sender it would come on but now it doesn't, air con faulty perhaps or something else?

Second, I've read heaps recently of people talking about how they have to lock then unlock doors if they don't start the car straight away. Mine does this even if the key is in the ignition and switched to start. Is this a fault we all share? I just always thought it was just the immobiliser kicking in cause the car hadn't been started. FYI my key does make contact with the ignition barrel.

Lastly, central locking and intermittent wipers, controlled by the bcm? My intermittent wipers will sometimes work like they should and sometimes work on their own time pattern regardless of where I move the little wheel on the stalk and my door locks will sometimes not go down when I press the button. (That seems to happen most often when it rains). So do I have a faulty bcm? Or would a new wiper stalk and door actuators work?

The fan should NOT come on when the a/c button is pushed unless the a/c system is working.
Second, our work VS does the same, we just pull the key out and turn it around and it works.
Lastly, the BCM does control both these, but sounds like a dodgy drivers door actuator if it plays up more in the rain,
As for the wipers, let me know I have the same issue,

Re fan questions - is your car V8 or V6 - they have different fan setup.
Other Q's I agree with mrv8....pretty much normal.

Does not having any gas fall into the not working category? It was coming on when I put the a/c on a few weeks ago...

There's an AC pressure switch near the receiver dryer, if she ain't got gas the circuit stays open and won't engage the compressor and/or fan.

aah, cheers bud. It must have been spitting out the last of the gas then the last time the fan came on when I hit the a/c switch. I was just hoping something hadn't broken! It seem as soon as I finish working through a list of busted stuff a new list starts to create itself!!
