    Default VR/VS Steering Wheel compatibility

I recently bought a replacement steering wheel, secondhand for my VS since the original was 'soggy' to the grip(breaking away from the metal skeleton), but couldn't get ithe new one to fit .
It Looks the same , as far as the air bag cover being removed goes, because it didn't come with one, but i'm wondering if it is for a VR perhaps and that they might not fit the VS.
    Strange.

Pics are attached of the "new" steering wheel.

Hoping someone can clear this up,, Thanks.

Is the hole to big or to small. I had one off a vu looked identical to my vs one but the hole was to big on the wheel.

I think the VR & VS share the same boss kit so I assume the wheels should be the same. If you need another wheel I have the original one from my VR, it's different to the one pictured.

Steering shaft changed to a larger diameter at VT.

In the pic there is a 'keystone' shaped hole at the 11 o'clock position. IIRC this is in a different position between VS and VT.

It's been a while since i tried it and i had almost forgotten what the reason was, but yes, i'm sure it was an issue of the spline being a different diameter.
I will probably have to take it off again and measure the diameter, also i ended up stuffing up the airbag because the warning light is on now and i was confused by how it all fitted in with that wire switch thing.
Thanks very much for the replies, Another thing to sell on ebay i suppose.
Is that VR one all 'firm' and the airbag type?

It's pretty firm, but it's a non air-bag type, sorry.

    Default Diameter of Hole

OK, Nol worries, thanks but i can't use that oine.

I have just measured the diameter of the spline shaft hole on this steering wheel and it is 15mm.
Without taking my other one off the car at the moment, i can't tell you what that is.
