Question VS Equipe SII autotransmission going?

Beginning to think my transmission's going
firstly the cars done 160k clicks, owned it since 110k (3yrs), dont try to be a hero often.
    couple of questions guys

firstly when i drive in the morning to go to work (abt 6am pretty friggin cold usually), when the car is trying to change from 1st to 2nd (first gear change of the morning) the revs go to abt 4k or so and really struggles but after the car is warmed up i dont have a problem at all, dunno if this is the transmission or just because the engine isnt warmed up?

secondly when i jump on the freeway obviously the speed limit goes up to 100, as im accelerating at about 80km/h the same thing happens again i think its when changing from 4th to 5th but the gear change drags out really bad.

thirdly when im driving at abt 100km/h ill look down and the revs are slowly going up and up sometimes getting to about 5k, then i stop accelerating and try to accelerate again, sometimes it happens again or it will change gear and ill be fine for abit then it will repeat. this doesnt happen every day but it will if im on the freeway for 30 min then go down to 80 then try to get back up to 100km/h

i did put a full bottle of transmission fluid in it abt 10months ago could this be the only problem,

p.s i pretty much have no idea what goes on under the bonnet so try not to confuse me too much haha

    cheers

Sounds like your auto is sliping due to a lack of pressure, mainly because your torque converter is sliping when locked. 1st thing i would do is check the fluid level and see where thats at. The factory hand book will tell you how to do that. If its low top it up with dextron 3, but by the sounds of it generaly when these gearboxes slip to much they end up stuffed very quickly, also since the torque converter clutch is slipping also you may need a new torque converter. But check the level first and see how you going

I'd do like Noddys VP says and checl fluid level....but I'd also invest about $15 in a can of transmission "stop slip"....this should improve things for a while and cannot do any harm.

Check the fluid by having the car running and in park.
Also make sure its red in colour.

I used Lucas Oil Stop Slip a little while ago and it worked a treat. Cost me about $25 for the 700 mL bottle.

Did you check the fluid level after adding a bottle?

My point is , if you have not drianed it out then there is big chance you have overfilled it and is the cause of all the problems you now have.

    A service can do wonders.
My trans was slipping, so I gave the trans a service.. But will need to be done again as it was never done in years and the fluid was black

Overfilling isn't a good thing either, whether its engine oil or transmission fluid. As Noddy said the owners manual will tell you how to check it properly. Make sure its a nice red colour too, if its going brown then you will need the fluid flushed and replaced.

    Entire tray. Little messy though.
Wont really matter. Old oil will always be in the system.

all the fluid will drain even if the front wheels are on ramps? then just back to level so i can read the dipster while the car is running(warm)? correct?

sincee i wasnt 100% confident i took it to the mechanic and got the trans fluid drained and new fluid put in, he also said he did a service on the transmission no idea what this involves but the car has been running just as good as i got it abt 2-3 years ago, he said that the stop slip would do nothing aswell so hmmm :/
