Dipstick Needs Help

I've just replaced the head gaskets on my Series 3 VS, during 'the 'unbolting' the dipstick came out. Buggered if I can work out where the hole for it is, I've checked another VS and see it disappearing through the manifold but haven't had a chance to jack that one up and have a good look (I have with mine, but can't find the hole).

Any 'really descriptive help' would be appreciated.

It's in the block near the knock sensor.
