i had a vn that the computer was faulty and caused a injector to be fiering continusly this caused the sump to fill with fue. you may have a computer problem or leaking injectors
Sounds like blow by
In Blow by he means that youve got an air and fuel mixture that is blowing past the oil rings on the piston and ending up i the crank case and sump. there is always a small amount of blow by in a perfect working engine but obviously youve got a bad seal or something.
how many kms does it have?
the car has 280k on the clock, and it was starting fine until i did the exaust and replaced the bad batt that was in it. i rolled it down the driveway a bit so it was under cover, ever since that it winds over but no start. and fuel smell in oil. just wondering if i replace the injectors, manifold , reg, etc would that help>?
As mentioned above, leaking injectors will cause this. You can remove the fuel rail and injectors from the inlet manifold, leaving the fuel hoses connected, and turn on the ignition to pressurise the fuel rail and then check to see if any of the injectors are leaking. You can get brand new injectors on ebay for just a bit more than it costs to get old ones cleaned/recoed..
thanks guys, i do have a friend wrecking the same model car, and i have 1st dibs on anything so i will pull the injectors and rail off of that while im at it....
i did check the o2 sensor, but it seems fine, and i did do fault code test, and only get the *31 anti theft detterrent signal missing code, which is common on the vr's. got a fuel rail and injectors, with new plugs and coil pack coming on fri, will try those and see how i go. btw, all parts are off a friends car she is wrecking as it wont pass rego due to bent chassis
might take bcm and key head whie im there. just a q" , will i need any thing off the barrel to use the new bcm and key head?
:O
All I have to say
You just need to get the BCM and the ignition key fob from the spare car, and you just unscrew the two screws on the old keyfob and remove the metal "key" part, and you then fit this to the other new fob. One thing to look out for is when the metal part of the key is removed from the fob, there is a little metal tab up in the hole the key goes into on the fob, and this tab has to be securely touching the metal part of the key once the key has been screwed to the fob, as this tab is connected to the ciricuit board and completes the earth circuit for the key reader. So just check to make sure the little tab hasnt been bent up or is corroded or dirty, because if it gets a bad connection there, the immobiliser wont disarm properly sometimes and will play up..
Also is the BCM in the spare car the same level as yours? as theres different levels of BCM fitted to the various models and they cannot be swapped over without a lot of modifications to the wiring looms etc, thats way too much trouble,so check that the numbers on the BCM cover are the same or the type is the same. There are low, mid or high, BCM's available, depending on what options and what equipment level the car was ordered with from new, theres also lux version of the BCM in some cars. You will mostly find that commodore executives will have low BCM's fitted, the acclaims etc usually have a mid level BCM , and calais and statesman have high or lux BCM's fitted.

Did your read the answer I gave in your other thread: VR S2 fuel in oil? logged 6 minutes before this thread was started?...or was that thread started for another car with similar problems???
