Cool VR V8 manual. Speedo not working

Hey guys, Done some searching but have not found the perfect answer. I have a Manual VR V8 caprice. Now when i brought the car it was already manual but the speedo didnt work. Now my mechanic got the reverse lights working but had no luck with the speedo. So i had a look how he did the wiring and from the speedo sensor there is a positive in the pink wire, the blue or black wire to negative and the purple wire was hooked into a blue and beige wire coming out of the ecu. Now i read on the internet that it is suposed to go to the purple wire above the ECU.

So i thought id get some info on from the pros so if ya know where this wire goes can someone help me

    Thanks josh!

Prob need to grab yourself a manual. like gregories or something they have all the wiring diagrams in them.

ECU pin A10 goes to the speed sensor should be Violet/white wire, the other wire from the speed sensor pink/blue goto fuse 12

I'm sure there is a wire patch loom for this on Ebay - dont cost all that much either.

Maybe they have something to work with the V8.

The purple from.the speedo sensor needs to be connectef to the purple neer the ecu. Some people run the signal throught the old auto harness which would be why the purple connects to the blue one under the car but personally i ran a wire straight from the speedo to the purple at the ecu.
