Default Need to replace Rear man seal on my VS SS 5sp manual.

    Hi all,

I have been reading heaps about how to change the real main seal on my V8 and there are people out there that say it can be done from under the car, even my Gregory's manual states that. The is that I don't have the area, tools and the skills to do this (wish I did have the skills). I have been to see 2 mechanics and they are saying that the engine has to come out. What pisses me off it the engine was out about 18months to 2 years ago for welsh plugs but the mechanic didn't think of things like seals and stuff. That cost me just over $1000 cash for just the work on removing and re-installing the motor.. not covering parts.

So I guess what I am getting to does anyone out there know of a mechanic that can replace a real main seal from under the car rather than removing the donk?

Someone on the North, or Western suburbs of Melbourne or even Geelong way would be good. I am based in Melton.

    THanks in advance,
    Brad.
