Started with my car not being able to start every time when I turned the key, Didn't really care because it started eventually.
Then one day it didn't start at all, like the battery was completely dead. Charged it over night, still dead.
Went to K-mart bought a battery, seemed to start fine, except this time my sub in the boot wasn't working.
Yesterday morning I went to start my car and nothing, and this is the new battery. Charged it over night and still nothing this morning.
I'm assuming this has something to do with the starter motor now?
Any ideas/suggestions??

does it or did it make a tick sort of sounds when it didnt start?
does it start if you lock the car then unlock the car then try to start it?

Yea it made a ticking sound when I tried to start it, which eventually got slower the more times I tried it
And I unlocked it this morning after I hooked the battery up and still nothing
my guess is the starter motors shot, its probably actually just the solenoid but your best to just replace the whole assembly. i replaced my starter recently for the same reason. it cost me about $140 for the replacement starter

Check your boot or interior lights arnt staying on. Something may be running that you arnt aware of every time you lock the car.
Sub wasn't working, maybe something in that.
agreed^check you dont have something running constantly draining your battery. check your battery with a multi meter.

Thing is though, i charged the battery overnight then stuck it straight in in the morning, and still nothing, even if there was something draining it constantly it wouldnt have mattered for the battery went in
Nothing at all?
Start fuse?
The sound the solenoid is making is the same you get from a virtually flat battery OR dirty and/or loose battery connections. Check all connections which must be tight and clean....also check to see if they get hot when you try to start (indicates high resistance). Some batterys don't like being cranked for a long period and will fail even if new....also charging overnight with a small charger may not recharge the battery enough.
A good check if you have a bad battery is to turn the headlights on - try and start the car - if the lights are yellow without starting the car the battery is flat, and if they go yellow when trying to start then the battery is partially flay. They should stay reasonable bright if the battery has good capacity and all connections are good.

turned out to just be a loose connection i think.
wriggled around some wires at the starter motor, gave the battery terminals the best tightening they have probably ever had. And low and behold, it purred into life.
