I'd like to fit a long range tank to my VR V6 sedan, and I've found one on eBay from a '94 VR SS (IRS) that I can get for $200. It's in good condition.
I have a few questions:
- Can I use my current fuel pump?
- Will a tank from an IRS fit my live-axle?
- Will I need a new sender?
- Will the IRS straps fit?
- Will I need to make any modifications to get it to fit?
- Will it be impractical and scrape everywhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated![]()
In all honesty buddy unless your getting the big tank because you go on long trips then other than that its impractical.
I fair bit of stuffing around for no real gains at all.
Each to there own tho i guess!
Lol just buy a vr ss or a bt1 and in most cases you get the tank standard!

Good dig, thanks mate. I might give it a miss since it seems there is a bit of custom work involved in getting an IRS tank to suit a live-axle rear end.Check this link I've found for you - it answers your questions:Long Range Fuel Tank...
