Hey guys,
My antenna isnt going up and down like its supposed to. The motor for it still works but I think its stripped a cog or something. Does anyone know how to acess the mechanism for it?

Unlikely the cog it stripped, more likely your aerial is gets stuck at some point from a prior injury.
The motor is located behind the plastic cover in the front wheel arch. There is a bolt that goes throught the body and comes out near the ecu (passenger side kick panel), and you will need to access this to get it back on.
You can buy a whole new setup from somewhere like Supercheap, but you can buy the mast seperate. Be warned that it is sometimes very difficult to get the old mast out.
Thanks for this aceventura at least now I have some sort of direction.

I recently stuffed around with second hand ones from a wrecker until I got a working one and believe me, save yourself the bullshit and just buy a new one from supercheap. It's a prick of a job to do on your own and you really don't want to do it more than once trust me!! I don't think the up down buttons will work on a supercheap one but thats a pointless feature really.

I need some statesman/ calais woodgrain for drivers side panel!!
i had some trouble with mine as well. pulled it out and the cable that moves the antenna up and down had broken. got a new one from autobarn and put it in but i think it was the hardest thing i have ever done on my car. not sure if its cuz i stuffed something up but it requires alot of patience. mine works with the switches as well but in my opinion it wasnt that bad when it was broken.
I managed to get the existing one working today ( sort of ) it goes up and down fine until the aerial reaches its fully extended point then it wont move without some help. if i only let it go half way 3 1/4 of the way up then override the auto up/down with the manual buttons it works fine so im not sure what the go is there.

maybe its a little bit bent at the bottom and therefore gets stuck but dont try and bend it back you will only make it worse. maybe some lube would help
The aerial mast has a nylon "rope" with teeth cut into one side. These teeth get worn over time and cause the mast to slip as it goes up and down. By pushing and pulling on it manually you can get it to work for a time, but it will only get worse until it stops working altogether. Lube won't help. Personally, I haven't had any success with replacement masts and have had to purchase a complete new Aerpro unit from Supercheap and replace the lot. If you can time it right, purchase a new one on a 20% off day. However, they usually only keep one or two in stock.
