Default vs statesman v6 engine noise

hi my brother inlaw has this car and had a listen to it it sounds like a knock rather than a rattel when you first start it it sounds bad then at idel its not so bad but again if i rev it, It's loud we just changed the bearing on crank because the front one was shot but the rest were fine but changed the lot anyway. Put it back together still there the top end looks like there isnt enough oil getting there it looks dry so im now leading to the oil pump. any people that could shed some light on this topic would be helpful cheers dinny.

Try checking oil pressure before you blame the oil pump....also check the oil pickup strainer. If the crank is badly worn it will still leak heaps of oil despite new bearings (unless reground) plus once a bearing goes it usually spreads all the metal particles thru all the other bearings which chews them up and then they leak more oil etc etc. Motors are pretty cheap - $400 should get a decent one at a wrecker or privately.

Default checked oil pump not the problem

cheers for reply not the problem we thought that if there was no oil getting to the top end then there was a blockage somewhere but the was nothing wrong with it it was clean. Then took rocker cover off and checked to see if the oil was getting up to the top and tryed to deturmend where the noise was coming from a rod or a roller but all was good with the car running, it was a bit black on the front two from where the first bearing went. Checked the oil pick up in the sump even took it out and cleaned that was fine. i was reading on a thread where someone had a rattle but its not a rattle its a knock rather than a rattle they where saying that it could be a tensioner at the chain could this be the posibility?
