Default VR V8 Pump not Working

I had a quick search on the forums but couldnt find anything posted along the same lines as my issue.

So my alternator shat the tin in my VR 5ltr yesterday and I went out and bought another one.

Rather then unbolt it all I thought id just replace regulator anyways, the battery light is off now when the ignition is on so im assuming its fixed but when I go to start it it wont fire....

I have now noticed the fuel pump isn't priming and I think that's because of a rookie mistake, I didn't disconnect the battery when removing the regulator and it earthed out when removing it and sparks started flying...

I have no fuse placard so it was hard to tell which fuse is what so I removed and replaced all of them and still nothing? (foot well and under bonnet)

    Is there a relay also?

And could I of actually rooted the pump by crossing polarity's at all?

    Cheers, 304runner

Battery light should stay on until the engine is running not when the ignition is switched on.

Yeah after I read my post I was thinking the same.. So I ran down to the car and noticed that I hadn't even plugged the regulator clip on. (face palm)

After that it it still didn't start then I switched over a few relays and she fired up but still had the battery light on so I changed the alternator over and all is good now

Should of just done that to start....lol
