hey guys.

just wondering what everyone thinks are the better looking tail lights for a vs.
Altezza?

Edit: if ya dont wanna spend a lot $$$ it looks alright to tint/black spray the taillights & reflectors :P

Mate don't go altezza's, get some Calais taillights (the stock ones with the clear/grey indicator). They are neat, match everything, are classy and no one will have a go at you for them.

shoulda added this before, i have the altezza's already, and can get swap mine for any of these, got people who want mine and have the other 3. so $$$ is no drama, just unsure of which i like better. and which look less crap.

Just do a google image search for vs/r.
No offence to you personally but I think altezzas are THE gayest thing to ever happen to commodores!
I agree tinted black

As for other cosmetic mods, debadge, berlina or calais grills and chrome door trims.
I recently bought a sticker on eBay that goes over the rear window breaklight so when the break is on it says 'Berlina'

i did the search, thats how i got the pictures, but some look good with certain colours, if you get what i mean??

i dont think much of them either but i have grown fond of them because there on my

tinted black seems the go, the police but? being a p plater i dont wanna get picked on for them.

Prob not a good idea these days to tint them on your p's. I had my VC tailights jet black when I was 18 (white VC so the lights really stood out!) and I never got pulled up and never have since. I did the VS ones when I was 21 and they're still pretty dark but yeah, never been a prob with cops or getting passed for rego.

I guess its up to you what you like, personally I love tinted tailights but heaps of people hate them so it's what you like at the end of the day.

This crew on eBay can make the stickers to say anything, ask em for one that says 'Exec' or something, lol, least it will be unique!!

yeah i like the look of them, expecially in the picture up a bit further, they look very neat and tied in.
but yeah as a p plater with a commodore, i wish to fly under the radar as such haha, so far so good

I've seen the altezzas with The lense removed, not sure how long theyd last though. Not personally a fan, a lot of people like them though.

so many cars have them now, even supercheap have started selling them i noticed.

Tinted black is the best for sure, only thing I do to my cars, altezza are usually gay (although the ones in attached pic above are a bit different) and the clear are just plain chat. Like gothic kid said, some can pull altezza off, but most look like shit!

But for your car tinted black is the way

No worries bud.
As long as the brake lights and indicators can still be seen clearly during daylight I don't think cops could be arsed stopping you. I've had so many sitting on my arse over the years and never been pulled up for it... might be luck?

I've got Stock Calais taillights with fairly dark tint, but not completely black. Look fairly good and I've never been asked about them by the authorities.

They're starting to get a little bit boring though, so I'm considering the all-clear "Frosted" lights with a slight bit of tint, for that dark grey look.

IMO if you are going to tint them buy the cheapest set, if you decide to go calais (which are also berlina

) tint your altezza's and see how they come up.

Its a shame they stopped the calais tailight pinstriping, I was a fan of it on the VL- P. The aftermarket stuff could look ok if it was done really well.
