do you want to remove the cv/axel shafts, the wheel hub or the axel in the diff center?
if its the cv/axel shafts, you remove them from under the car, there are 6 8mm cap screews each end of the shaft, remove these and the shaft comes out,
if its the axel in the diff, you will have to remove the cv shafts, and with a lever pop the axel out off the center, but be careful if you remove both axels out of the center at the same time somthing in the center can fall down and you will have trouble getting the axel back in. hope this is of help.

I need to remove them from the centre... There are 4 bolts in behind where the rotor would sit but they hav a head on them like a torq head but it has more bumps... What tool do i use for this and is that all i hav to do to get the axles out or do i undo the ones behind it or on the diff?

if only removing the axel from the diff center, all you have to undo is the 6 8mm cap screews on the inside cv joint and pull down out of the way and remove the axels, no need to remove anything near the rotor/wheel end.

the piviot bit on both ends of the cv/drive shaft. the inner one bolts right up to the axel in the diff center and the outer one bolts up to the wheel hub.

Mate I suggest you go and spend $50 and get yourself a gregorys VR commodore workshop manual (book number 265 for V6 models), and follow the step by step instructions in it showing how to remove the diff centre on an IRS equipped VR. Because its all in step by step instructions, with plenty of pics, if you follow them, you cant go wrong, and you wont be removing any parts etc that are probably unnecessary to remove in the first place..You can also possibly learn heaps of mechanical stuff about your car from these manuals too. Ive used them for over 25 years now and I still do use them regularly just to be sure the job is always done 100% correctly..
Be sure to get the gregorys brand workshop manual if you do decide to buy one, some other brands of workshop manual arent as anywhere as good as these ones..
