Priming 304 oil pump

Can I use grease rather then vasso to pack in the pump for priming?

I only ask because I have a heap of grease here and if it saves me getting cleaned up and driving all the way to the shops to get some Vasso then I'll just use the grease.....

i've used grease, vasso, nulon engine assy lube... you'll be fine mate

Using vasoline is preferred as it is petroleum jelly and will disolve in the oil, grease will leave a residue.
